Technolgy and The Classroom

Technology is ever changing especially within the realm of the classroom and its implementation in the classroom and its improvement of educating students and improvements of those methods to which teacher teach their students. The ever changing technology is not just the latest and greatest gadget for the teacher to use in the classroom or the student to utilize in class is an iPad or that each student has a laptop. The improvements it is what is available on the internet the sharing of ideas whether it is through Pinterest or Twitter, the sharing of ideas, lesson planning, and techniques to use in the class are now at our finger tips.

Technology has made it difficult for teaching and learning in today’s classroom. There is a greater dependence on technology today than there has been in the previous years, for both students and teachers.   In the last so many years one of the many complaints about the advances in technology is the use word processing. Often it is sited that poor grammar and spelling is a down side. Additionally, there is a greater dependence on social media and the sharing of ideas whether it is for classroom techniques or lesson planning.

With the advancements in technology in last years it is difficult to say just where it is going and how it will benefit education in the next five years.  Considering all of those advancements it is easily that the advancements will be a big improvement to education in the next five years. Because it will just keep getting better as they have shown to be.

Please listen to how I plan to use technology in my classroom below

StoryTelling Washington

Digital Storytelling is an excellent tool to use within the classroom. It is another form of multimedia presentation that allows the teacher as well as the student to introduce material. There are many uses for the digital story telling. One that I find to be very helpful in gaging students' participation is the feature that allow for the making of  quiz pages within the presentation. The students can take a quiz that is within the presentation for so that they can have better understanding of the material that is being covered.

Please look at the brief presentation that I created for my students for this week's discussion on President George Washington.
